MARMARİS
Having preserved its traditional, little fisherman's village aura until the end of 1970's, with the increasing tourism investments in 1980s and with the urban dvelopment developed unbelievably fast in 1990s Marmaris has become one of the busiest tourism centres of Turkey .
In this development process Marmaris has succeeded to perserve its old charm to a greater extend, and locals have managed to maintain their traditional living. The village bazaar is bustling with all the products from Marmaris and neighbour villages. The enthusiasts are still fishing with lines on the jetties or cruising around the bay chasing after fish. .
The tourism season between the months of May and October changes the quiet, small town attitude of Marmaris completely which prevails throughout the winter season. In this period which the streets are packed with people and bars, clubs and restaurants serve almost for 24 hours Marmaris becomes one of the liveliest towns on the face of the earth. The difference here is that right beside this busy and crowded life, you can find bays only to yourself, woods, lanscapes that you will not want to leave and several worth-to-do activities. The traces of history which are omnipresent in the entire Anatolia can also be foud in and around Marmaris.
